Atomic Absorption Lamps
Our extensive line of AA lamp products including single and multi element combinations in standard 37mm (1.5”) and 50mm (2.0”) diameters that are designed to interface directly into the AA spectrometer. These lamps are available coded with the data base allowing the instrument to automatically identify the lamp of interest.
PREMIER lamps consist of the following to ensure proper quantification: an anode, a cathode made from the element(s) of desired, and an inert gas contained in a glass envelope to allow for proper excitation. Coded versions of various lamp designs are available and some may require the use of specific instruments.
Atomic absorption spectroscopy is the technique for determining the elemental composition of an analyte via absorption and emission. In today’s analytical world, flame and graphite atomic absorption spectroscopies are some of the most widely used. To utilize these machines properly the analysts needs the acquisition of precision made hollow cathode lamps. PREMIER lamps are essential to the atomic absorption system.
Modern AA spectrometers can determine a large number of elements rapidly and automatically. Given that only a limited number of lamps can be installed in an AA system, the following is self-evident: the need for lamps which emit more than one spectra are increasing and paramount; that the spectra need to be as noise free, intense and sensitive to the element of interest for atomic absorption measurement; and finally that the consumables be easy to operate while achieving unparalleled quality. Of course, for better detection limits a single element is recommended.
